Sigbjørn Nome is a former BCG consultant with experience in procurement transformation projects. During his time at BCG he discovered the immense untapped potential within the procurement function, especially related to frustrations of seeing companies relying on manual work and gut feelings when working with spend and suppliers. 

A passion for collaborating with people and companies to create business impact, he started Ignite together with his co-founder Børge Langedal who also worked in BCG. After some years in procurement consulting on “no cure, no pay” together, they discovered that they could create more impact for the customers by creating a SaaS-solution.

Sigbjørn, what is Ignite?

With Ignite, we set out to help companies take control of their spend and suppliers and become more insights driven. Our vision extends beyond traditional metrics, where cost, quality, and delivery are the only important metrics. Long-term success lies in understanding the ethical and environmental impacts of our purchasing too. By looking at these dimensions holistically, we believe we can drive better and more sustainable decisions.

What issue does your solution solve?

Ignite helps you see the full impact of spend and suppliers, identifying ways to cut costs, reduce emissions, manage risks, and navigate evolving supply chain regulations.

Who is your solution aimed at? What does your perfect client look like?

We are the best friend of the procurement function, but since procurement is getting more and more cross-functional, sustainability and finance functions are typically also involved both in the sales process and as users of the solution. Our solution supports collaboration between the different internal stakeholders, and helps companies manage suppliers and spend in an increasingly complex environment.

What is the biggest challenge Ignite faces?

Ensure procurement function gets the mandate and budget to work holistically with spend and suppliers across economical, ethical, and environmental aspects.
